First 2009 Networking Event
'Opportunity Illinois': Low Interest Loans For Business Survival
The Quad County African American Chamber of Commerce's first networking event in its 2009 quarterly series is titled, 'Opportunity Illinois': Low Interest Loans For Business Survival. The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Rasmussen College, 2363 Sequoia Drive in Aurora, IL.
Registration is requested. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. The speaker for the event will be Ms. Debbie Meyers-Martin, Economic Opportunity Program Coordinator for the Office of Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias. Ms. Meyers-Martin has been with the State Treasurer's Office since April, 2007. She is responsible for coordinating Employ Illinois Business Programs and serving as the liaison to all local Chambers of Commerce, Small Business Development Centers, Economic Development Councils and suburban municipalities throughout metropolitan Chicago, Suburban Cook, Will, Kendall, Kankakee and Grundy Counties. Ms. Meyers-Martin works with small business, government entities as well as financial institutions to provide information on the programs offered by the State Treasurer's Office.

2009 Jazz Brunch...
Success Beyond Measure!
The 2009 Jazz Brunch held recently at the Hotel Arista in Naperville, IL attracted approximately 125 business, community and political people from throughout the quad counties of Kane, Kendall, DuPage and Will.
The goal for jazz brunch was to raise funds to support various programs and planned events throughout the year along with promoting and fostering business relations for minority businesses throughout the counties. In addition to the networking, great food, and jazz music, the Chamber honored African American Businessman, Raullo Eanes, President of Jet Fastener Corporation, based in Aurora, IL.
